As expected, Toyota was leading the 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Saturday June 11, after eight hours of racing. Cars No. 7 and No. 8 from the Japanese manufacturer led the dance and stood in a pocket handkerchief on the Sarthe route.
Behind, the Glickenhaus n°709 remained in ambush at just under two laps while its sister, the n°708, spun off, took more than five laps behind after a passage in the pits. Hard blow, moreover, for the tricolor chances and the Alpine: victim of a clutch problem, it was more than seven laps behind the Toyotas.
In LMP2, the n°38 of the Jota team was in front whereas in GTE Pro, the intense battle between Corvette, Porsche and Ferrari turned for the moment in favor of the German manufacturer, at the head of the category with two cars (N°92 and No. 91).
