It’s recap time for the day on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Today we have Russian cinemas forced to hack movies to live on, bugged Teslas called back to the garage because of a bug, and an emulator Nintendo Switch for Android. Fasten your seat belts, here we go!

Russian cinemas embrace piracy to live on

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has amazing consequences. Many Hollywood studios have decided to no longer release their films in the country of Vladimir Putin. Russian cinemas are therefore forced to adapt, according to Torrent Freak, who has noted an upsurge in piracy by local exhibitors. The latter do not hide besides and do not hesitate to make the promotion of the last blockbuster in date, however not distributed.

The Nintendo Switch emulated on Android

Play Switch on Android? This is possible with the Skyline emulator. The latter uses the architecture of Yuzu and Ryujinx, two high-performance PC emulators, to adapt it to the smartphone format. If emulation is obviously seen with a very bad eye by Nintendo (because it is illegal), the technical exploit is still interesting. Not enough to replace the comfort of a Switch (the games do not exceed 40 FPS on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1), but all the same.

Tesla faces a size problem

Tesla faces a new problem. The car manufacturer is indeed obliged to recall to the garage more than 50,000 Model 3s produced between 2018 and 2022. The cause? A bug on the speedometer. The latter does not display which unit of measurement is used between miles or kilometers. It could be embarrassing to confuse the two!
