“Qué miras bobo?”, Messi gets annoyed in the middle of an interview against a Dutchman

Lionel Messi raged at Wout Weghorst in an interview after Argentina’s win over the Netherlands.

Lionel Messi, usually described as reserved, raised his voice after Argentina’s win against the Netherlands. After clearly showing his revenge against Louis van Gaal, the Argentina captain took on one of his opponents while in the middle of an interview with TyC Sports.

“Qué miras, bobo? Andá para allá!”, we hear him say vehemently in the direction of a person outside the camera’s field of view. Translation: “What are you looking at, idiot? Get over there!”

Aguero got involved

According to TyC Sports, Lionel Messi responded to what he felt was a provocation by Dutch striker Wout Weghorst, who approached him while conducting this interview. Holland’s double goalscorer was not only insulted by his opponent of the night, but also by former Argentina international Sergio Agüero, who hung out in the dressing room tunnel. “Shut up! Why are you talking?” the latter said to him. Which unsurprisingly warmed spirits.

Argentina will face Croatia on Tuesday night (20:00) for a place in the final of this 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
