When Little Italy comes to Paris, it gives you Mulberry Street, a trendy Italian restaurant in the Latin Quarter that offers you a menu that smells of Italy, an overseas version, for a moment between Rome and New York, in the heart of Paris. . We tested, we tell you!
Want to savor the best of Italy as if you were in New Yorkin the neighborhood of Little Italy ? Direction Mulberry Street, Italian restaurant of the Latin Quarter, in the 5th arrondissement more precisely, which invites you to discover its map of vegetable charcoal pizza in a decor inspired by the best addresses in the New York district.
A restaurant with a name steeped in history, too… And for good reason: at the time of New York’s gangs, Mulberry Street was the street where many Italian immigrants settled. A cosmopolitan, popular and joyful district that the establishment has tried to transcribe, for a guaranteed change of scenery in a decor where wood, metal and copper are combined. For the street side, the restaurant called on a duo of urban artists, TITO/MULK. The latter were inspired by comic strips to give a little more cachet to the place.
On the card side, this can be read in a replica of the New York Times and offers vegetable charcoal pizzas to devour at the counter or in the dining room. Their particularity? Be light, greedy, digestible and tasty! Another specialty of the house, the giant pizza, 1m20… Just that! An ideal pizza for groups or big foodies. Next to that, on the drink side, a nice selection of craft beersof organic wines and of explosive cocktailswith or without alcohol, for a beautiful blend of flavors.
An address that the editorial staff was able to test. On the map side, we left ourselves with the Burratina, a vegetable charcoal pizza made with homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella, cherry tomato, Parma ham and a burrata. A particularly tasty pizza, with a thin and ultra light dough, very digestible. We were also tempted by the pink hummusbeetroot, as well as by the guacamole. Beautiful preparations, ideal to start the evening.
On the cocktail side, two biphasic: one Long Island Iced Teaas well as a mocktail, the Mango Street, made with mango juice and grenadine syrup. Two beautiful creations, very pretty and well made. We also opted for a shooter, the Tiramisu, made with Bailey, coffee liqueur and cream. A real favorite !
Also note that every weekend, a italian brunch cannon! And every Friday and Saturday, the house receives resident DJs offering, just like in the Big Apple, the best of funk music, disco or house. A great address, therefore, to experience the best of New York without leaving the capital… Shall we go and have a look, friends?
