It’s been almost a week since Apple announced its MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro 13 M2. However, the actual availability date remains unknown. The resellers having started to reference them, we went around them to try to see more clearly.
When announcing MacBooks equipped with the new M2 chip, Apple remained elusive about the actual availability of the MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro 13 M2, settling for a “next month“. It was no longer in the habits of the apple brand to announce a product without providing an exact date of availability, especially since it is not possible to pre-order the products in question.
We therefore took advantage of the listing of the various models at the retailers to try to establish a precise date of availability. We logically started with the Apple chat, where our interlocutor sticks to the official discourse (“next month“) and sends us to the manufacturer’s Newsroom to be alerted.
On the side of Fnac, same speech. If the MacBook M2s start to be referenced, it is not possible to order them, and our interlocutor on the chat does not even know if it will be possible to pre-order them online.
At Boulanger, all MacBook M2 references are online. However, it is impossible to put them in the basket. The dates of availability – whether in withdrawal or online purchase – are absent, only a cartridge “Available next month” is present. The online help advisor is a little more vocal, mentioning early July for availability.
The MacWay specialist wants to be more precise for the MacBook Air M2. The reseller even advances on an availability date: July 13, with a delivery in stride for July 15. Finally, LDLC, which was quickest to list all MacBook Air and Pro in M2, is more cautious. However, he goes so far as to announce a schedule for pre-orders: July 30 at 8:00 a.m.
It is therefore difficult to trust resellers to have a reliable availability date. We continue to seek information on the availability of the M2s and look forward to being able to offer you a test.
