Gone are the days when Tesla was not in great shape and when the possibility of bankruptcy was omnipresent. If the firm of Elon Musk had indeed encountered a lot of difficulties in its beginnings, as well as the launch of the Model 3 with many delays in deliveries, now things have been going for the best for a few years now. And for good reason, the manufacturer has a string of successes and is expanding its empire.

A rebound that we owe in particular to the success of the Model 3, the brand’s electric sedan, which then succeeded in dethroning the Nissan Leaf on the European and French market. A real success for this newcomer, which now shakes all its competitors, yet more and more numerous. But Tesla did not want to stop there, so the company launched the Model Y in 2021, on the European market.

A real success for the Model 3

And the least we can say is that these two Tesla flagship vehicles continue to be a hit in Europe. Because as Jato Dynamics, specializing in data relating to the automotive industry, reveals, the two stars of the brand are doing more than well on the Old Continent.

In its recently published report on sales figures in Europe for the whole of March 2022, the British firm ranks the models with the most registrations. And surprise, it is the Tesla Model 3 which comes first, with more than 23,000 sales. A huge figure, which makes it the best-selling car on the territory, all engines combined. The electric sedan is then closely followed by the Peugeot 208.

Model Y also pleases

But that’s not all, because another model from the Californian brand also appeals to European customers. This is the Tesla Model Y, launched in France in the summer of 2021. In March alone, nearly 19,000 copies were sold, placing the electric SUV on the 3rd step of the podium.

Overall, sales of connected cars have accelerated very markedly in recent months. In March, 244,801 new registrations were recorded, electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids combined. By way of comparison, only 202,113 diesels were sold over the same period.
