Google will merge its Meet and Duo apps

Concretely (attention, it is necessary to follow the reasoning of Google), Meet functions will gradually be integrated into Duo. Then the Google Meet app will disappear. And Google Duo, the only remaining messenger, will be renamed Google Meet by the end of the year. Phew.

These unnecessarily complicated changes are proof, once again, that in terms of messaging, Google is still looking for itself. Although the giant has reduced a large part of the web, it still has areas that partly escape it.

Remember that before Google Duo and Google Meet, the Mountain View company had notably offered Google Chat, Google Talk, Google Hangouts or Google Allo. In short, a nice mess which should, in theory, be simplified in the months to come.
