The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, spoke with the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk.
The information was shared on Thursday by the communication department of the Turkish Presidency.
Erdogan and Musk held a meeting via videoconference on Thursday.
They discussed autonomous electric vehicles, the digital economy, long-term investments and existing cooperations, especially regarding private/public cooperation in Turkey in the field of space technologies.
Erdogan and Musk also discussed investment opportunities in Turkey regarding the production of lithium batteries for Turkish TOGG electric vehicles.
The company SpaceX, founded by Musk, will launch into space next January the Turkish satellite TURKSAT 5-A. Discussions are continuing for the launch of the TURSAT 5-B satellite.
