FC Barcelona were hot, but they finally got away with it on Tuesday against Bayern Munich in match 5 of their Euroleague quarter-final at home (81-72). The Catalan club started this decisive game for the qualification for the Final Four very badly. More skilful, the Bavarians took control of the meeting, partly thanks to their American pivot Othello Hunter (18 points).
At halftime, Bayern led in a worried Palau Blaugrana (37-31). But the Barcelonians have woken up, in the wake of Argentinian full-back Nicolas Laprovittola (26 points) and Spanish winger Nikola Mirotic (20 points).
Barça largely dominated the third quarter (29-13) to take the lead, before managing their lead at the end of the game. Thanks to this hard-fought success, the Spanish club will find their great rival Real Madrid in the semi-finals, from May 19. In the other part of the table, Efes Istanbul is waiting to find out who from Monaco or Olympiakos, who face each other on Wednesday, will join them.
