Apple Store: Macbook Pro 14 and 16 “are still blocked in China…

At the start of the week, the situation does not seem to be improving for Apple’s subcontractors, whose production fluctuations directly impact the shipping and delivery times of orders. In recent days, it is mainly about Quantumand its site in Shanghai.

Despite the easing of containment measures and the partial resumption of production, the firm would have relaunched only about 30% of its capacity since last month and that it should – in the best of scenarios – gradually increase to 50%. For its part, Apple would have changed its freight modes, moving from sea to air to shorten schedules.

The problem is that the factory is the only one to assemble 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M1 Pro and Max chips. Also these display extended deadlines on the Apple Store, especially for certain configurations. Even if several models can be found (and with discounts, it’s not so bad) at certain retailers, stocks could be reduced…

The same situation is found for some Mac Studiothe basic configuration doing slightly better with a delivery window of June 1 to 9, 2022. For their part, the MacBook Air, the iMac M1 and the Mac mini do not seem to be too affected by the constraints.
