Apple is preparing more displays, including a new Pro Display XDR

Apple is currently developing new displays, and one of them will be a new version of the Pro Display XDR, according to information provided by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

Details about Apple’s new displays are sketchy at this point, except that the new displays would feature Apple Silicon chips, as is already the case with the current Studio Display. This model embeds the A13 chip, the same one found in the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. The chip handles a lot of functionality related to the built-in webcam and microphone. The scenario will be the same for the next models.

A new version of the Pro Display XDR must therefore see the light of day, but what will the other models be? There is currently no information. One wonders if Apple intends to renew the Studio Display. This 27-inch 5K display debuted in March 2022, so it’s still new. For its part, the current Pro Display XDR was born in December 2019 together with the Mac Pro.

According to previous rumors, Apple is preparing a new 27-inch screen with a Mini-LED screen. It would debut in the first quarter of 2023. Technically, it could be a Studio Display with ProMotion. This is the market name given by Apple for the variable display speed up to 120 Hz. It is already a reality on MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad Pro.
