We were telling you about it a little earlier this week, during Apple’s conference, WWDC, the brand not only announced numerous software updates such as iOS 16, macOS Ventura or even watchOS 9, but it also presented a new MacBook Air.
Equipped with the M2 chip, the MacBook Air will carry a 13.6-inch screen in a still compact format, namely 11.3 mm thick and 1.2 kg on the scale. Barely the official announcement, a new report from Bloomberg mentions another MacBook Air which would be planned for 2023.
A 15-inch version and the return of the 12-inch MacBook?
According to sources who wish to remain anonymous, Apple is preparing a 15-inch version of the new 13.6-inch MacBook Air. This new computer would use the visual code introduced by the model presented this week.
Originally scheduled for this year, Apple reportedly postponed the project to focus on the 13.6-inch version. According to Bloomberg, the current state of the supply chain does not allow us to envisage the marketing of the smallest model before July and that of the 15 inches before the beginning of next year.
In parallel, the report also speaks of a 12-inch computer. This format introduced in 2015 was abandoned in 2019. At this stage of development, it is not yet possible to know whether it will be an entry-level machine or, on the contrary, a compact version of the MacBook Pro line.
Apple, as usual, declined to respond to requests for comment on its plans.
