For this new edition of Pikes Peak, Unplugged Performance will launch a Tesla Model S Plaid to attack the mountain.

Unplugged Performance, the tuner who would like to become the official Tesla preparer, is not at his first attempt in competition. After missed opportunities to shine, the American specialist will return to the starting grid with a very pissed off Tesla Model S Plaid.

Palo Alto’s powerful electric sedan has passed through the workshops of Unplugged Performance to come out with a body kit that has nothing to envy to the world of aeronautics. She dresses for the occasion with a huge cake shovel at the front and an imposing (the word is weak) rear spoiler.

An original mechanic for this Tesla Model S Plaid

His mission: to continue to write history by improving a little more his time won last year. In the previous edition, the Model S climbed to the top step of the podium in its category with a time of 6’57”220. No error in the figures here, since the course had been shortened by the organization due to the weather conditions at the time.

Stripped down, clad in a carbon bodywork, maintained by a racing suspension and braked by a carbon-ceramic system, this Tesla Model S Plaid does not claim any mechanical improvement. It would therefore retain its three engines for a total of 1,034 hp. As always, Randy Pobst, who signed Maxime’s tried-and-true Model S Plaid, will drive this car.

Remember that the freelancer has already set a great time on the Laguna Seca track with a time of 1’28’20, just behind a McLaren Senna and a Czinger 21C!
